The Medtronic Global Communications and Corporate Marketing (GCCM) is looking to add search engine marketing expertise to its newly formed Data, Analytics, Insights, Media and Experience (DAIME) Team. The Senior Digital/Social Specialist – SEO & AI Optimization will help contribute to the transformation of our digital presence. This role will be pivotal in positioning Medtronic’s content for visibility within search results and in AI-powered search experiences.
You will work cross-functionally with content development, UX, digital experience, IT, corporate brand and analytics teams to ensure our digital assets are discoverable, structured for the future, and aligned with the evolving landscape of search and generative AI.

SEO Strategy & Implementation
Audit and optimize Medtronic’s global web properties for technical SEO, on-page SEO, and content performance.
Support the creation of standardized best practices that can be followed across the Enterprise to ensure we are building our foundation.
Develop and implement scalable SEO strategies across brand projects, product lines, regions, and business units.
Identify and resolve crawl issues, duplicate content, and site architecture inefficiencies, supporting key external and internal websites.
AI Search Optimization
Guide the thinking for how to structure content for AI-readiness (e.g., featured snippets, voice search, Bing Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity).
Implement and manage structured data (schema.org) across key content types (products, FAQs, medical conditions).
Collaborate with content teams to create concise, semantically rich, and machine-readable content.
Analytics & Reporting
Monitor organic traffic trends, keyword rankings, and AI visibility metrics.
Use tools like Google Search Console, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and ChatGPT/Bard integrations to identify opportunities.
Contributes to performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Competitive Benchmarking
Conduct regular audits of competitors to identify gaps and opportunities.
Develop SEO strategy for key brand and DTC launches to help Medtronic capture share of search, partnering closely with key stakeholders
Stay ahead of search engine algorithm updates, AI search trends, and emerging platforms that are disrupting discoverability behaviors.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Nice to Have
Hands-on SEO experience, preferably at an agency, in healthcare, medtech, or regulated industries
Proven success in reversing traffic declines and scaling SEO programs.
Deep understanding of structured data, semantic SEO, and AI search optimization.
Experience with enterprise CMS platforms (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, SharePoint).
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in SEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush, GSC, GA4, Adobe Analytics).
Familiarity with healthcare compliance (e.g., FDA, HIPAA) in digital content.
Experience working with global teams and multilingual SEO.
Understanding of LLMs, generative AI, and their impact on search behavior.
Familiarity with HMTL, JavaScript and relevant testing protocols.
