About You

About The Role

As a Senior Technical SEO Account Manager, you will lead on a large size portfolio of clients and be responsible for improving organic performance alongside achieving client KPIs. You will also manage a small team of Technical SEO juniors and will be responsible for helping with their development, ensuring consistencies are happening across them all whilst also supporting them with the success of their client accounts.

You will be a natural born leader, an expert in creating and implementing SEO strategies and a strong communicator.

You will have been in a similar role previously with experience in both Technical SEO and managing people and you’ll have been in the Technical SEO industry for at least 5.5 years.

Main Accountabilities
  • Lead on a large size portfolio of clients and drive positive results by implementing effective SEO strategies
  • Be the lead of a small team of Technical SEO people and be responsible for the quality of work your team produces alongside the performance obtained on your team’s client accounts
  • Step in and assist your team members with problem solving, improving performance and taking a lead in client meetings where needed
  • Work collaboratively with the Client Services Account Manager on all aspects of your accounts to provide the client with the best possible service. Ensure this is happening within your team too
  • Achieve account renewals and upsells both individually and in your team, by driving strong SEO performance, communicating clearly with clients, and hitting all internal and external KPIs
  • Generate and deliver monthly client reports which include insightful and accurate commentaries
  • Can delegate work effectively
  • Deep dive into client websites and complete Technical Audits. Summarise actions that you would recommend implementing to the client
  • Provide clear and concise briefs to other SEO teams for them to be able to deliver client work within set deadlines. Those teams include Content, Outreach + Digital PR
  • Set realistic deadlines with colleagues and never miss a deadline that has been agreed. You will also be responsible for keeping within client budgets to ensure they remain profitable
  • Proactively volunteer to pick up additional tasks as and when required to help support the Technical SEO Team
  • Ensure daily admin tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Be proactive in your personal development and be in the know with industry updates
Core Knowledge & Skills
  • Have at least 5.5 years’ experience in a similar role within the Technical SEO industry, ideally within an agency setting
  • Excel in delivering presentations both F2F and via Teams
  • Be a strong communicator and a natural born leader
  • Have the confidence to present data and key findings to senior stakeholders within our business and externally
  • Be fluent in English for both your verbal and written skills
  • Have an advanced knowledge of excel
  • Can analyse large data sets and summarise clearly your key findings and any actions required
  • Have the confidence to put forward your own ideas and thoughts, even if they differ to what somebody else believes
  • Good people and relationship building skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A strong work ethic
  • Understand how to use some external SEO tools such as SEMrush, MOZ, SERanking etc.
  • Prior line management or coaching experience would be desirable
