SEO / GEO / AEO Strategist
We’re looking for a search strategist who understands that “SEO” isn’t just about rankings anymore. This role sits at the intersection of traditional search, generative search (AI-driven results), and answer engine optimization—owning how brands show up across Google, AI platforms, and emerging discovery channels. You’ll lead content strategy with a performance mindset—building scalable, data-informed programs that drive visibility, traffic, and qualified leads across organic and AI-powered experiences.
Roles + Responsibilities
Search Strategy (SEO + GEO + AEO)
- Develop and execute integrated search strategies across:
- Traditional SEO (organic rankings, technical optimization)
- Generative Engine Optimization (visibility in AI-generated responses)
- Answer Engine Optimization (featured snippets, zero-click results)
- Identify opportunities to increase brand presence across Google, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and other AI-driven discovery platforms
- Monitor and adapt to changes in search behavior, SERP features, and AI interfaces
Content Strategy & Development
- Own the content roadmap aligned to business goals, search demand, and user intent
- Build topic clusters, entity-driven content, and semantic strategies
- Partner with writers, designers, and subject matter experts to produce high-quality, authoritative content
- Optimize existing content for performance across both traditional and AI-driven search environments
Performance & Analytics
- Define KPIs across rankings, traffic, conversions, and AI visibility
- Analyze performance using tools like GA4, GSC, Ahrefs/Semrush, and emerging AI visibility tools
- Translate data into actionable insights and ongoing optimization plans
Technical & On-Page Optimization
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure strong technical SEO foundations (site structure, schema, page speed, crawlability)
- Implement structured data and entity markup to improve machine understanding and AI surfacing
- Ensure content is optimized for readability, extraction, and summarization by AI systems
Cross-Channel Collaboration
- Work closely with paid media, CRO, and sales teams to align messaging and maximize pipeline impact
- Support integrated campaigns where organic, paid, and AI visibility work together
Requirements
- 3–7+ years of experience in SEO, content strategy, or organic growth
- Strong understanding of:
- Technical SEO fundamentals
- Content strategy and keyword/intent mapping
- Evolving search landscape (AI search, zero-click behavior, entity-based search)
- Experience creating or managing high-performing content programs
- Familiarity with structured data, schema, and semantic SEO principles
- Analytical mindset with the ability to tie work to business outcomes
- Clear communicator who can translate complex search concepts into actionable plans
Bonus Points
- Experience optimizing for AI platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, etc.)
- Background in B2B, lead generation, or performance marketing environments
- Experience with CRO or conversion-focused content
- Familiarity with APIs, automation, or programmatic SEO approaches
