Technical SEO Specialist - Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the organization's search engine optimization strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and digital acquisition objectives.
- Own and lead the end-to-end execution of key SEO initiatives, directly implementing technical optimizations and content enhancements.
- Manage and contribute hands-on to all aspects of SEO, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, and off-page strategies.
- Lead the SEO team and own the SEO agency relationship, ensuring projects are executed quickly, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
- Roadmap, build business cases, and manage the implementation of SEO initiatives across multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Optimize website structure, performance, and architecture for search engines, ensuring best practices are met for crawlability, indexability, site speed, structured data, and Core Web Vitals.
- Conduct deep-dive keyword research, competitive analysis, and ongoing technical SEO audits to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Work closely with developers to implement technical SEO recommendations, schema markup, sitemaps, and structured data improvements.
- Collaborate with content and creative teams to optimize existing content and ensure new content is SEO-friendly. Provide guidelines and recommendations to ensure alignment with search intent and keyword targeting.
- Leverage SEO tools (Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and web analytics) to track performance and optimize campaigns based on real data.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, algorithm updates, and emerging SEO technologies, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of organic search strategies.
- Provide proactive SEO leadership, ensuring cross-functional teams understand and integrate SEO best practices across the business.
- Continuously test, refine, and improve content and technical strategies to maximize organic search performance.
Technical SEO Specialist - Required Skills/Experience:
- 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in technical SEO, preferably within eCommerce, membership, or event industries.
- Proven ability to manage and directly execute high-impact SEO initiatives for large, complex websites or portfolios.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Public Relations, or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in technical SEO best practices, including crawlability, indexation, structured data, Core Web Vitals, keyword research, content optimization, and link-building strategies.
- Experience directly implementing technical optimizations via CMS, development environments, or direct collaboration with developers.
- Proficiency in hands-on SEO execution, including working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (as related to SEO), and CMS platforms such as WordPress, Unbounce, Payload, Retool, and non-traditional CMS frameworks like React, NextJS, and Gatsby that pull content from databases.
- Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and web analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Looker, etc.).
- Experience with AI tools and chatbots for strategic SEO planning and implementation.
- Strong JavaScript knowledge for technical SEO implementations on code-heavy sites.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret SEO data and translate insights into action. Experience with GA4 and other analytics tools is preferred.
- Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, organize large-scale projects, and drive SEO initiatives across teams.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical SEO requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A hunger for continuous learning, innovation, and improvement in the rapidly evolving field of SEO.
- Familiarity with firearms and the 2A community is a plus.

While we welcome applications from candidates who desire to work remotely, we offer preferred consideration to those who can work at our beautiful headquarters in West Bend, Wisconsin. For those opting for a hybrid schedule, this involves working in-office three days a week.
Target base salary range $72,000 - $88,000 based on experience. Eligible for company bonus plan.
