The Lead Intervention Specialist / SEO at ACE Academy is a comprehensive leadership and instructional role based at our physical building in Wapakoneta, OH. While ACE Academy provides a digital learning environment for students, this is an onsite position for staff. You will be responsible for the compliance, oversight, and direct implementation of all special education services. As the primary Special Education Officer, you will ensure 100% integrity of IEP and 504 requirements while serving as a dedicated mentor and tutor for our students. This position is the central "anchor" for our intervention services, ideal for a leader who excels at administrative compliance and high-impact, direct student support.
Key Responsibilities & Leadership:
• Special Education Leadership & SEO Duties: Act as the lead Special Education Officer for the Academy. Direct the IEP/ETR process, coordinate with the school psychologist on evaluations, manage all Sponsor (Buckeye Community Hope Foundation) updates, and maintain the Special Education handbook to meet all state and federal mandates.
• Service Delivery & Intervention: Own the hands-on implementation of IEPs and 504 plans. Provide 1-on-1 or small group tutoring and specialized instructional support to help students overcome academic barriers in both online and onsite environments.
• Mentoring, Engagement & Compliance: Manage a student portfolio, providing consistent outreach and academic tracking to ensure students stay on a clear path toward graduation. You will collaborate closely with the Lead Mentor and Truancy Officer to identify if a disability is an underlying factor in truancy or lack of progress. You must be proficient in the manifestation determination process and PR-01 documentation to ensure all engagement-related decisions are legally sound and properly communicated.
• Staff Mentorship: Collaborate with and guide the multi-disciplinary team (the school psychologist, Lead Mentor, and instructional staff) on the effective implementation of accommodations and intervention strategies within an asynchronous, digital model.
• Data & Systems Management: Collaborate with the Director and EMIS Coordinator on accurate reporting of special education events. Utilize tools like Edgenuity, Google Workspace, ProgressBook Suite, SameGoal, and AI tools to document student progress and ensure instructional continuity.
