OS is on an exciting web transformation journey and we’re in search of an experienced SEO/ASO Manager to lead our SEO and ASO initiatives.  

In this dynamic new role, you’ll help us redesign our digital landscape, developing a user-focused online experience that drives organic traffic and conversion across multiple domains and channels. You’ll work closely with subject matter experts to elevate our online presence for key topics and sectors and collaborate with cross-functional teams and agency partners to ensure strategic alignment across platforms.

Using your expert knowledge of search engine and app store optimisation, you’ll lead, plan and deliver the SEO and ASO strategy for Ordnance Survey’s corporate and consumer web estate and mobile applications, driving organic traffic and improving search engine and app store rankings.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement SEO and ASO strategies across corporate and consumer web estates

  • Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis to identify high-value keywords for both web and app content

  • Brief on-page SEO optimisations for meta data and headings, and ASO optimisations for app titles, descriptions, and metadata.

  • Collaborate with content teams, you will develop high-quality, helpful content that will improve rankings, attract backlinks, and enhance app store listings.

  • Monitor and analyse web and app performance using SEO and ASO tools to identify areas for optimisation

  • Stay up to date with the latest SEO and ASO news, updates and trends

  • Provide regular reports and insights to stakeholders, demonstrating the effectiveness of SEO and ASO strategies

  • Manage and collaborate with external suppliers

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience in an in-house SEO/ASO role working on large websites or applications, or at an agency covering all aspects of SEO/ASO from strategy planning down to technical SEO/ASO and implementation.

  • Experience developing and implementing multi-domain and multi-channel SEO strategies    

  • Proven track record of driving organic traffic growth and maximising search engine and app store visibility

  • Knowledge of app store algorithms and optimisation strategies to enhance app visibility and downloads.

  • Advanced knowledge/experience of common SEO and ASO tools like Dragon Metrics (or equivalent), App Annie (or equivalent) Google Analytics, Google Search Console

  • Strong experience working with content teams and conducting gap analysis to create SEO and ASO briefs

  • Knowledge of link-building strategies and backlink management to improve domain authority and search rankings

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to articulate SEO concepts to stakeholders of varying levels and knowledge.

Location: We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be required to spend 1-2 days a week with the remaining time being a personal choice as to whether you work from home or spend more time at OSHQ.
